Hi guys, i have a tuned 2015 sho with air-intake, castles downpipe, 2.5 resonator and custom built bullet exhaust.
The problem is that the exhaust sounds terrible, the tone sounds too high and raspy and i don't know what to do with it.
I'm currently thinking of replacing the resonator with bigger ones to make it sound deeper so what do you guys think?? And if you have any suggestions please help...

Leave it alone. There is no more performance gains to be had, and you will only inherit terrible noise. If you want an awesome sounding sedan, pick up a CTS V.

Keep all the resonators and do just a muffler delete. I've also added "J" pipes to eliminate any drone. My system is the same as yours except my dp's are catted. I get compliments all the time.

So you are telling me to keep everything the same except that I have to change the dp's to catted ??

Because I was going to replace my mufflers...

No, I'm not saying to get catted dp's. I'm saying keep all the stock resonators and just remove the mufflers. Even without the cats your car should sound close to mine. If you do this and you get drone, then u need to get some "J" pipes welded on. Check out mufflerman.net (Kenmore NY) and see if u can get "J"s from them via mail. There might not be anything on the site about the "J"s but if you call them they can help you out I'm sure. They could also build u a custom system if u wanted that would include "J"s. They have done 3 of my cars. Very high quality and customer service with very good prices. That's who I get mine from. When u say replace mufflers what do you have on there?

I don't have the stock exhaust on my car.
I have a custom exhaust system on my car already with only a resonator ( not the stock one ), x pipes and a bullet mufflers.

People have told me that i have to replace the mufflers now if i wanted to cut the raspy sound out of the exhaust or i should install catted dp's

And you are saying that I have to remove the mufflers??

And also what do you mean by saying J pipes??

x pipe will create more rasp than H pipe for sure but not much in my opinion. U can remove the mufflers and see how it sounds. I'm gonna guess u have drone now and if u remove the mufflers you'll get lots of drone. That's where "J" pipes come in. They are a length of exhaust tubing in the shape of a "J". It's then welded into the exhaust anywhere along it's length, usually it's located after the rear axle. The ones I've used are adjustable because drone occurs at different rpm's for each car. Mine was occurring around 2100 to 2300 rpm. Once The "J"'s were installed i could change it's length by moving the pipe in or out. It's sorta like a trombone, how the slide works. If you go to solo-performance.com and look at any of their exhaust systems you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. That's where I got my mustang exhaust and an old G8GT exhaust. Unfornutatly they dont make a system for the SHO. I talked to the owner after I got my car and he said there is not enough interest to pursue the development. When I mentioned Mufflerman that was because that is a solo-performance location in the states. Mufflerman did remove my mufflers, installed "J" pipes and installed 4" black tips. Solo is a Canadian company. I would post a pic here but I don't have enough post yet so I can't.

All "j" pipes do is remove unwanted sound frequencies that cause drone.

I've looked it up and as you stated it's meant for drone only, the problem is that i don't care much about the drone, but what drives me crazy is the raspy or the bad exhaust sound that comes at high rpm. My car sounds cool when it's at low rpm but once i go full throttle it sounds like a motorcycle or an old truck cuz it loses the deep tone, that's why I'm thinking of installing a magnaflow mufflers to cut the rasp off ( not the drone ). So if i installed the J pipes i will cut the drone off but the rasp is still going to be there.

Search for a video called rasp from ****. I have the same issue but on high rpm only.

Ive listened to the video, both parts. Apparently it's the lack of cats that is causing most of the rasp. My car does not sound like that. I have catted ppe down pipes. As far as drone, the Corsa normally has technology that addresses drone. I'm guessing that is part of their high price. You wont find a "J" pipe system out there as far as I know except Solo-performance. Since they do not make a system for the sho then u would need to contact their shop mufflerman near Buffalo(kenmore) and have them send a set to you unless u are close by. If not, u can have a local muffler shop weld them on. Believe me I'm no exhaust expert and I'm only telling u what has worked for me. I swear by the "J" pipe technology(lookup helmholtz theory) and having cats on the car, any car. I dont feel catless is worth the aggravation.

Maybe that's why I have so little drone, my exhaust turns 90° and exits behind the front wheels.

I installed a custom catted downpipes with American racing cats on it.
But for some reason i feel a little bit of vibration under my feet when i reach 3000 rpm and i don't know if this is normal or not....

I would recheck the mountings for the exhaust and downpipes. They can become loose after installation, and may need to be retightened. Also check the driveshaft carrier bearings, just in case.

I'll dig up this thread and second this recommendation for drone. I had the same issue and solved it the same way. It'll drop the drone at the built frequency at the expense of slightly increasing the volume at the bands immediately above and below the tuned drone frequency.

If anyone cannot find the company to make their tubes, they can calculate what they need and take it to an exhaust shop to have them weld something up.
