But what us everyone's opinion on having your automobile (SHO) have an alignment after swapping on your winter wheels and tires?

I don't have winter tires on my SHO (garage stored for winter). However, I do have winter tires for my Jeep and my wife's Kia. I've never had an alignment done on them when I swap the winter tires on/off. As long as they have the same rolling diameter as your normal tires, I wouldn't see a need for alignment.

Not needed since changing wheels doesn't affect the actual suspension geometry

This was my assumption, but being my SHO is my first AWD vehicle, it never hurts to be absolutely sure and ask a simple or stupid question.
