Well today it seems like my SHO was smoking like it was burning oil or something. It also seemed like it had lost its get up and go. Also it took a bit longer to start then it usually does. It has 160,000 miles on the clock and is leaking oil from the side pulley seal. The plug well donuts I was told have been replaced. Im hoping the rings arent going or anything because I reall dont want to have to pull the motor or anything but After spending around $3,000 on it so far, Im not about to junk it or part it out. does anybody have any ideas what could be going wrong and what I can do to fix the problem. Im kind of at a loss here and my dad wants to run it till the motor blows which there is no way in **** im going to let him do because ive put the $3,000 into it, not him. So I really need some help here.

Where is the smoke coming from? From the engine bay? Out the exhaust?

First thing is to verify where the leak is in the engine bay. If the front main seal (pulley side) is leaking, it's not a terribly hard job, many people replace them on their own. Also check the rear valve cover, it is notorious for leaking back there on the rear passenger side corner leading many to think their front main is leaking.

Verify that there is no oil in the plug wells by pulling one of the front spark plug wires off. If there is oil then it can cause problems. Make sure you suck the oil out of the well prior to removing any spark plugs or putting the wire back onto the plug. Never let the oil drain back down into the engine, you really don't want that crap in your engine if you want it to last.

Sounds to me like she just needs a little bit of TLC and a good full 60k. Plugs/wires, seals, timing belt, water pump and valve lash adjustment. You'd also be surprised at how much better the car will respond if you clean the intake and throttle body out.

Good luck! :thumb:

It is coming out of the front main seal because I used some oil additive that shows up under a blacklight(very cool stuff) and thats where it is leaking from. It does need a 60K and Im saving up money to get a full kit from Midwest SHO. For some reason the car didnt smoke or leak any oil today. Its was odd. It does need some TLC and will get it as soon as money comes in.
