I dropped the heads today **PICS-56k no**

At the local NAPA machine shop for a clean + leveling (whatever that's called) and the bill was 100$.

We previously Ported the intake and exhaust ports (gasket matching) and inside the valve "room" which was pretty nasty in there. And a little bit in the combustion chamber where the intake valve opens , there's a good wall to remove.

Now it's time to get everything back together.

Careful, "leveling" could mean they shaved them (called decking). This is not recommended for SHO heads...least not more than a certain amount.

yeah no more then .003 i believe its .001-.003 for sho head.

Exactly what they should look like after being cleaned. If I paid someone to clean my heads and they were still looking like yours (dark brown, and deposits in the coolant passages) I would refuse to pay for anything.

Yeah, it looks like you kinda got shafted on that. It looks like they just hot-tanked and decked 'em. I've seen a set of cleaned heads and wow did they look pretty!...plus they had been ported and polished.

Dude everybody knows you got new heads , nice try.

Anyhow it doesnt really matter to me if the inside is still kinda "oil stained" . and they are crap free and oil free, that's what I asked for.

The heads in the picture I posted have 89,000 miles. They are the original heads from my car that I sold. The new heads are even cleaner.

Mine were rebuilt from the SHOShop, and with 147k on them, they looked like that . Even when I last pulled off my valve covers, they were way clean a year after the motor was rebuilt.
