not that I ever really want to, but sometimes I'm forced to. Unfortunently, those times when I must get out of my SHO prove to be difficult as my handle to open the drivers side door on my '95 ATX doesn't work anymore. Basically when I pull the lever it just goes all the way back, with very little tension, and the door doesn't open. This started happening immediately after I opened the door one day a few months back and it felt like something snapped. Any ideas about how to go about fixing this? Rolling down the window to open the door from the outside handle is getting really old.

Sorry this isn't in the Maintenance, but this was the only forum dealing w/ interior...

Just pop off the door panel and see whats going on.There are 2 "hidden" screws on the handle, one in the map pocket, and then just yank it off. There is a plastic film to pull back, and all is there for you to see.

Jeremy,

Neat looking engine compartment, huh!
I drove that thing too, all too briefly for my liking though. I was actually going to take off with it, but seeing as my car was up on Josh's lift with my wallet and stuff inside it, I am thinking he would have probably come looking for me.

I couldn't imagine what it would be like to drive Josh's car. I wonder what modified f-body's and cars of that sort think when Josh smokes them. From a roll of course.

You are right, he would have to loose the shocks that hold the hood up, and in my opinon, the strut brace doesn't do a whole **** of allot.

I think I have the answer to your problem... similar thing happened to my dad in the driver's side rear door of his 92 Taurus S/W- except the OUTSIDE door handle freely swings with no resistance and does nothing to open the door, and the inside door handle works fine. Answer: broken outside handle tab that connects to the rod that works the latch. I would guess that the same thing happened here- either the rod popped off the inside handle, or the tab on the inside handle broke off. Good luck. BTW-we fixed the driver's side rear door handle just in time- a week later the passenger side rear door won't open with either the inside or outside handles! It's been like that for about a year now, I think my dad gave up on it. Anybody want a 3-door Taurus S/W?
