I know if your fuel pump is good u can hear it singing or doing it's humming... But some times at idle. i will be out side of the car and i can hear it singing and the Fuel pump sound will kind of change in tone kind of going in or out. getting silenter and then going back to it's normal tone? is that the fuel pump on it's way out? Or what are some simptons???

Do you hear the pitch drop down inside the car when you are in ACC mode in the ignition before startup? That is one telltale sign.

Geez someone else can't sleep either.. headbang

Do you get very long cranking times?

I found that I have to leave my ignition in the ACC mode for 3-5 seconds before start-up, otherwise it will crank for an eternity before she fires up.
