I need a new clutch in my 89 and can't find any record of clutch replacement in the previous owners records. But the car has 160k on it so I'm almost positive it has been replaced but I was wondering how you could tell if it was still the 9.25 or if was upgraded to the 9.75 any info would be helpful

Take the starter off and look at the flywheel, ring gear, and pressure plate. If the PP is the same dia as the flywheel, and you can see the edge of the PP, then it's the 9.75" unit. If it's not, and you have to reach around with a finger to feel the PP, it's the 9.25" stamped piece of garbage.
