How to pull out cam cap alignment studs

How can i get those things out, does anyone know? Is it pretty much a vice grips and pull/twist out, or is there a trick like using heat or something.

piece off all thread 5/16 x 18 tpi make a slide hammer out of it

I use a small slide hammer with a 5/16 adapter on it

What is this stuff, im not sure what youre talking about.

A tap will do it, but you have to be careful not to do too much damage.
