Vehicle Application: 1998 Ford Taurus SHO 3.4L

Customer Concern: The Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (EATC) will not change the temperature from hot to cold. The blend door actuator was replaced but it still does not work.
Tests/Procedures: 1. Perform the self test on the EATC control head. During the test, the EATC control head will command the blend door actuator to move from hot to cold and the control head will monitor the internal potentiometer voltage that is integral in the actuator.

2. To perform the test, press the Off and Floor buttons at the same time, let go and press the Automatic button within 5 seconds.

3. A code 24 or code 25 is a blend door actuator failure. If the code is intermittent, hitting the defrost button will clear the code and the system may start working again until the next time the EATC sees the problem occur again.

4. A code 888 is a system pass code. If this code is retrieved during the self test, the blend door actuator is moving OK, but the blend door itself may be broken.
Potential Causes: Defective Blend Door Actuator
Broken Temperature Blend Door
Wiring Harness

I found this on napafix we use at work...hope it will help some...I know it shows a customer problem but it shows the self test as well so I copied all.good luck
