How to deal with rust?

For soem reason my Montreal-area SHO is having serious issues with rust, even though its only a 94 and has been rustproofed every year.

The rear wheel-wells have rust along the lip and at the rear joint between the plastic bumper and the wheel well. Should I jsut replace the entire rea-quater-panels? Or just shelack them?

Also I have rust bubles forming along the roof door lines, and water accumulates in my drivers side door (at least 1 litre after each downpour!)

I too would love any insight on how to get rid of rust. I have looked into many body shops and most of them frown upon trying to repair rust. Even when doing a full body repaint. Any instructions on how to treat rust, and get it off our cars would be great. Hope to see someone on here with body work experience.

Luckily I have a friend who owns a body shop that is going to cut out my thumbnail sized rust bubble and weld in a piece. He too hates rust work and is only doing it as a favor. He also has a new machine that pulls door dings without disturbing the paint. Gonna do that for me too. Keep asking around, you might find someone to do it for you.

Sandblasting works well. It just makes a horrible mess doing it. I sandblasted all the rust on my '89 doors. I gave up and found some doors that have very minimal rust starting. After you sandblast, use a body filler that has fiberglass mixed into it(i use MarGlas). It is more water-proof than Bondo(plastic body filler).
I have fixed rust and rot holes before, and it lasted for more than 3 years.

The only true way is to cut ALL the rust out and weld in new metal.

When i bought my car, I had about a 4 inch long section of rust right at the passenger rear tire right below the gas tank filler. I had no idea how to do body work so I left it up to my brother. He basically took a saw and cut out the whole section. I was soooooo mad at him because now I had this huge hole in the side of my car. I got real worried. One of his friends owns a welding shop so he welded a piece of metal in for me. It still looked like crap. So then my father and I hammered it in, put bondo on it, sanded it down, painted it, and then put a clear coat on it. It turn out freakin awesome. You can barely tell anything was there before. Greg, what kind of oil are you using? Your valvetrain seems very dirty. http://www.geocities.com/gw2kbust/DCP_0006.JPG BTW, the body work turned out very well. I wish a new someone who did some welding for free.
