Take 1 roll of plastic wrap (I used my honking roll of pallet wrap) and cover the cool engine from tire to tire.

You could have taken the hood pad off.:p

run the risk of damaging your mat, damaging one of the clips or just plain taking too long. Besides that you would have to leave it out to dry which means there is a potential for "kid next door" damage. My wash down took all of 10 minutes counting the wrap and unwrap. Besides, unwrapping it was like christmas in june. Hey what do we have here? oh a sho motor, how did you know I wanted that?

Oh and Jason: We will always disagree on this, but you run the risk of getting something wet that was supposed to be dry, like the plug wells, the cps, the tps, and any other S that was not meant for h20

I got my tps wet on my crown vic and the car wouldnt idle anymore.

I've been doing it for 5 years on my SHO(s) and just did it a week and a half ago. I've never had a problem. On other SHO's with non-stock plug wires, you can pump the water out of the wells with the nozzle from a Windex bottle pretty easily.

In fact, I spray the engine down for a goo 5-10 minutes. I spray literally everything, even the alternator (w/ caution).

I should post a picture of my Civic motor... It's all stock, but it looks brand spankin new.
