So I mixed a weak tank of fuel which gave me an OAR of -.59. I corrected it and drove about 5 miles....but it still read -.59.

How long does it take for the system to recognize the new mix?

As always, thanks in advance.

It depends on your driving and Matt's settings in the tune. Fastest way to do it that I've found is to do some 4th or 5th gear moderate acceleration pulls from a low dig (not too hard, not too soft, not too much RPM). Watch your knock sensor - you need to get it to at least -3 or -4 and hold it there for a few seconds, then let off. OAR will update then. Lather, rinse, repeat!

These are the stock conditions required for knock learning. They may be different in your tune:

K.R. <= -3 for at least 6.5s
0.40 <= Load <= 1.50
1,200 <= RPM <= 4000
170 <= Coolant Temp <= 230

What he said....as for the gas reaching your fuel rail, when I fill up it usually takes 5-10 minutes of driving before my ethanol sensor settles on a final number, so I would say drive it for about 10 minutes or so and then do the technique stripsho mentions above.

I don't have any reason to doubt either of the other replies. I would also ask Matt if he knows what the parameters are for this car to move between tables based on octane and knock detection.

Ok 100 miles of driving didn't make a difference. Then I remembered something mentioned about watching the knock retard.

So....I put it in 6 and got to just under 50 in sport mode and pushed the gas to about 75%. Only built about 10 or 20 mph, but it went from -.59 to -.61!

That's movement! So...rinse, repeat got it up to....er down to, -.79. One or two more runs like that got it to -.96.

At one point I glanced at the knock retard and saw -4.00! Sa-weet!

Thanks everyone!

With my a couple gallons 93 pump gas sitting in my tank for 7 months with no Stabil in it...I mixed in 2.5 gallons of 110 octane. First ride and datalog. OAR -96. Quick and easy.
