Hey everyone.
I was wondering How difficult it would be to snag AC parts from a 94 junkyard SHO to my 93 with broken AC. IIRC, then the 94 has the new type of refigerant while mine has the old stuff. Rather than try to fix my AC, I was thinking of just snagging the system from this SHO in the junkyard. Are any of the parts interchangeable (especially the ones that are hard to get at). Is this at all a worthwhile idea or am i just dreaming? Thanks for your help.

well im not exactly sure, however I do know that it does not hold charge. I was told that the hardest part to get at would be the evaporator because it is by the firewall? is this right? If im going to play around with fixing the AC, I would rather not pay outa my @ss for the old refigerant if its just gonna leak out as im trying to diagnose the problem. So I guess I would rather switch to the new type and since this junkyard SHO is a 94, i believe it utilizes the new refigerant. Im just wondering if this is a worthwhile endeavor or if its too much effort?

listen all you have to do is retrofit your existing A/C steup to 134a...you dont need to change the lines or anything....a proper retrofit kit will include the correct adapters and all new seals so all you have to do is install new seals in the lines and the new adapters where the existing ones are then charge it up....i see you are in Mass...i can help you more if need be...shoot me a pm...

ace is right 35 bucks will get you a "kit" then just put some leak detector in it to find the leak...but you will need someone to recover the rest if any refigerant left in the system and pull a vaccuum on it before putting 134a in it
