A premium low dust, high performance, ultra quiet friction formula....
-ceramic technology and organic friction formula
-smooth braking, fade resistant performance and low rotor wear...
-equipped with angled chamfers
and some other good stuff...

got them in last night...
bendix CT-3 brake pads.... police pads.

they are going in friday, as thats open shop time at school... i have to do it at school so i can turn the rotors. dont have one here at the shop...

these are the only stock pads that i have seen that have chamfers in them... all the other pads are solid...

just wanted to get a thread started..... i will post on how they hold, and whatnot when i get them in....
they were 57 bucks from advance....

Another ? i had was... is there anyway to increase line pressure to the rear, without using the bias plugs? like, either take the "padle" off, or compress it and secure it? i want to get the rear brakes working harder. But, i have heard mixed opinions on the bias plugs....

Sounds like a commercial - did the Advance guy tell you that or were typing from the box  Just kidding. Give em' a try and let us know.

I think there are quite a few on the board who have had success with a zip-tie on the bias valve ... hopefully some of them will chime in for ya.

I have bendix titanium metallix and those pads are amazing. I've tried hawk pads and they dont compare to these.

well the pads went in friday... but i have been busy, so i havent had time to post.
anyways...

Friday i drove around, fairly easily. Tapped the brakes hard once or twice, and noticed a difference... braking is alot smoother, along with a good grab.

now fast forward to today (sunday AM), i was coming home, and i decided that it was time for a brake check.... pulled her up to about 110... and hit them pretty hard for a couple of seconds, pedal got alittle soft, but not near what the stock would have done, and i look down, and im doing 60....
I was in shock... not only did i not stand on the brakes and have her slow down, but right as i felt the pedal get SLIGHTLY soft, i let off, but when i hit them again, they were fine!!
still in shock and crusin at 50, i hit them again, alittle harder than last time, an with an ever so light help from the abs, and i was stopped.... and stopped very very fast...

so.. still in shock, i decide that im going to really let them bite....

get the car up to about 55.. and i HAMMER the pedal.... i kid you not, i swear it felt like my eyes were going to pop out of my skull!!! it was absolutely amazing.... and **** the car alomost died... dont know what that was about( maybe cause i was low on gas??)
and yeah there was alittle brake fade, and a plentiful brake aroma in the air, i mean c'mon after that... , but not any were near what the last set, or even the ceramic pads had.... these pads are absolutly amazing...
even after the hard stop, when i pulled into my house, the brakes felt normal and like nothing had happend at all...

i know one thing, if they wernt bedded in before all that, they sure the **** are now!!

i highly recomed these pads... i can only imagine what they could do for the guys with the 96+....

i give them 4 out of 5 stars.... that rating might even go up after i test them in the twisties.... :D

probably not what you are looking for , but you can buy universal proportioning valves that area adjustable. you'd just have to plumb them in.

the zip tie method seems to be working for me...but then again I think the fact that it wasnt working in the first place is the reason I zip tied it. Seems like my braking is relatively flat. The stock setup is adequate for my purposes so this came out of necessity and not desire.

My bias valve is zip tied up due to having gm control arms with no place to mount it to. It has been that way for more than a year now with no problems. Make sure your ABS is working before you do this or you'll be swapping your ends while braking.

I am running the SHONut bias plugs, purchased from Midwest SHO. I have not had any problems with the rears locking yet, including panic stops in the recent rain the North East has been having.

I'll be attending a driving school at Lime Rock this weekend, and I'll be interested to see how my brakes perform on the track. Hopefully my 2 piece rotors will be here by then!
