Disconnect or cut the A/C hoses at the firewall.
(Not the heater hoses)
Disconnect or cut the hose at the condenser, thats the thing in front of the radiator.
Remove the bolts that hold the two hoses to the compressor. Remove the radiator, then remove the condenser. Next remove the electrical connection from the A/C clutch coil.
Then remove the compressor and the A/C clutch as an assembly (4 bolts). Thats it! Unless you want to remove the evaporator core from under the dash, that is it.
Now you need a belt that will go from the crank pulley to the alternator, and the adjusting idler pulley. You should be able to get a belt at any auto parts store. (A number of other folks have done this.)
What are you going to do with your old compressor?
I am interested, as I may be able to use it for parts, unless it is *****'ed. Please let me know. rangerj
