I know now that my struts are bad. Would that make my car sit really abnormaly low in the back, or are my springs bad as well? I just put some slicers on, and the wheel well starts about 1 inch above the top of the slicer... thats waaaaayyy too low.

It's probably the springs. The springs support the car and the struts damp the system. With completely blown struts, the car will sit a bit lower, but you'll notice blown struts in other areas first.

As John said, it's the spring's job to support the weight of the car. The gas filled struts do have some pressure to extend the shaft, but barely more than you can depress with your hands. I would guess that the pressure to compress the shaft on my Tokico struts was about 25 pounds. That wuld be about 50 pounds of support that they added to the front or rear. The remainder of the car's weight is supported by the springs.

It be your springs. I have the same problem. The answer is new springs. Obviously easy to do when the struts are replaced...

the list to do if you decide to go through with it would be, struts, springs, strut mounts, as all of these are accessable during the same job and shouldn't change the labor cost.

Springs. I had a blown rear before, but it wasn't until the springs really started sagging that I had a problem. I used to do large food orders at the warehouse club & cart the stuff back home in the SHO. No more! Now it's all minivan.

I did Eibachs & Tokicos at the same time. HUGE difference in ride harshness & handling, but not huge on the ride height. Barely noticeable up front, I think.
