Hey guys,
I get this horrible sound whenever i make a right turn in my car. It sounds like metal on metal scraping. It is loud too. Whenever i park my car and have to turn right to get into the spot, it makes the noise.
Any ideas?

Thanks,
Joe

Where is it coming from?

Have someone help you localize it.

From your description it could be anything, including a wife.

then don't make any right hand turns (rim shot) yuk yuk yuk.

Does it happen at hi or low speeds? Are you braking? Off/on throttle? My first guess would be a wheel bearing. Possibly a CV joint. Is it front or rear? How 'bout brake pads?

I JUST had a problem that sounded just like yours, Turned out to be a REALLY bad wheel bearing, bad enough that the spindle moved enough to make the rotor hit the dust shield on a right turn. The noise was the rotor scraping the dust shield, I had 1/2 inch toe play on that wheel, bearing shot BAD.

Get the wheels off the ground, turn the wheel,s see if they have any wobble, see if the shields are hitting the rotors etc..
