Ok so here is the brakedown. My car is currently in the garage. I told him to put new pad/rotors on my car. Then take a look at my "hard shifting (I posted back a little time ago that it is hard to shift) I drove the car to the shop perfect, shifted perfectly. OK, so I guess he took if for a ride. Then he calles me and tells me that he can adjust it fine, but if you happen to let go of the clutch all of a sudden it will loosen back up. He can not keep it tightened. Now some of you guys told me to adjust it using that blue quadrent. Well I didnt get a chance to do that, but I told my mechanic that there is a spring on the back of the blue quadrent that might be shot. He said yes that is true but if you would replace that you would need to get a whole clutch pedal assembly, is this true? First he told me that it wasnt the transmission, so I dont have to worry about that. But now my dad stoped in (cuz hes do ******** nosey) my mechanic told him that he might have to pull the tranny out. Any Ideas.

I seem to recall that there is a kit for replacing just the quadrant part.

If the car shifted fine going into the shop, then I can't see why the tranny would need to come out. But you also stated that you've been having issues with hard shifting, which might be a clutch or TOB issue, which would require the tranny to be pulled.

The mechanic might be viewing your dad as a "deep pocket" which would account for the sudden change in the diagnosis.

See the thing is it has a new clutch and TOB. I really need to get this car fixed ASAP, my dad is fussing about it. What I prabably will do is ask my mechanic what he thinks that it is, then take it to the two guys who put my clutch in and ask what they think. Just seeing what you guys might think it is.

ok i know kinda the problem happened with my dads car and still does. When you let the clutch out to fast or **** or hit the clutch it comes out of adjustment. Well it just so happens that when it is out of adjustment the clutch won't disengage all the way. whats should be happening if this is the problem is that the clutch will still be riding on the flywheel when put down all the wAY to the floor. This will cause exceessive grinding which will not stiop going into reverse and hard shifting. My dad bought a whole new assembly and the problem was still there. All you have to do is go underneath the dash find a white thingy and adjust it i forget the size wrench but every now and again it still comes out of adjustment. But he babies it. It not a big deal.
