OK well for bout 2500 miles the car did not do this. It idle hunts basically only while moving

I cleaned and recharged both filters (BOV too) with some k&N kits. Still was fine when I drove a couple times. Took it out 4-5 for times over the last 3 weeks and have noticed this problem. I also noticed the vac line from the Intake mani/IAC finally collasped and I replace that too. Also the only thing I messed with was messing the BOV to adjust (which is weirdly not working and drving me nuts) It worked before on 2-3 separte occasion.

The car drives fine, no CEL lights, but when u decel under 2500rpm or so it does not decel really. also when at idle coasting to a light or just costing the idle plays around or holds high from 1250-1700 or so. (making the s/c change sound tone which gets annoying) As soon as it comes to a stop it finds it 900 rpm idle. And idles at this perfectly.

Also the W/B use to almost always show lean or air while under decel, right till about 1k rpm (idle) Never in gear that low but. Now even at 2300 or so it will sit at 11.5-12.5 and for some reason when the car reaches a given speed or decent of a hill, the car will jump into the normal decel and go to lean on the W/B. U can feel it transition the car like the high idle is pulling the car still.

Anyways I thought it was a dirty maf, from the oil recharge, but cleaned it to no prevail. Anything else I could try? Is this a tune problem b/c it never did it before. But I know adaptive learning can change things. Thats why I figured I'd ask.

TIA,
Justin

I know that the dashpot keeps the idle speed higher when it sees the speed sensor moving. Other than that it sounds like you need to ditch that lpm and get a tweecer. I think those old sho shop tunes are horrible.

Even though you cleaned the MAF it could still be bad. Other than that it sounds like maybe a vac leak.

If it was bad though, 99% chance of the CEL showing this... And I am sure the idle would not be rock solid when it does stop. When a MAF is unplugged, it fights to idle.

Yea thats wat is called. I couldn't remember!!! I will be doing this soon, i think, and saving for a dyno tune. That guy in NY, seems to know his stuff. idk yet.

That guy (adam) really does know his stuff. I would recommend. If you maf is reading a little bit off your computer will not know the difference so it will not turn on the CEL. **** i'm maxing my 90mm lightning maf under boost and it is reading crazy at idle because of turbulence and there is not code for that.

Adam is tuning my supercharged sho .

Right now we have the car close to perfection.
Few little bugs to work out.

You should definitely give him a phone call.

The dashpot will control how fast/slow the idle comes down. More than likely, you'll need to fine tune the larger MAF via tuning at lower air flow and space out the curve at higher flow.

Let us know how that works out. I am very interested in having him look at my tune.

justin, you have an lpm right? Have you tried clearing the comp? I have a feeling adaptive is kicking in and causing some issues. Original SS tune?

If you think about what he said it sounds to me like the bov isn't venting at all. If the maf is reading all that air its going to adjust for it. I would check that bov to make sure its venting correctly.

Maybe....it is a LPM but the tune is modified by brian (lupo). It is not that tune to get u running and not blow the engine. Beside this problem, it is actually pretty decent for an LPM tune. He said there could be some minor problems like, hard hot starts, but it has been good. MPG are decent and power seems good. lol

I am going to mess w/ this next time. As its set not where I want it. I am going to mess with that and also unlplug the battery and see wat this does.

What fuel pump do you have, and did you ever replace the factory FPR?

It has a 255. Yes it has the basic FPR kit. First thing I bought after the intial purchese :)

Sounds like it's time to get a tweecer.
The LPM was really only to get you started, based on what I saw Vadim used for his S/C tunes. The problem is that outside your basic functions, the LPM software for B9B is very limited, especially for a S/C setup, or large injectors.
If you keep the stock injectors, and simply want to change scalars, or MAFs, then it works just fine. It also has the ability to change stabilized fuel map, and sea level spark map, but no real need to change these for most N/A setups.
The LPM software cannot change cranking pulsewidth, injector offset, or high slope. These setting are very important if you change from stock injectors.
Get a tweecer, or quarterhorse, or something that has datalogging and a good X2J mapping, and we can help you a lot more.

Aside from that, I agree you might have BOV vent problem, or you could also check your fuel pressure, to make sure it's not too high, and that the FPR is working correctly, i.e. taking away enough pressure in vacuum, and adding enough in boost. The first Mallory FPR I got was actually bad in my case.

You will be getting a PM soon. I have one now, actually it been over a month but I have been enjoying the car to much. You will hear from me soon. Sux though, I need a laptop but can't afford one till next month. Even a cheap 300 one

I will double check the FP and also check the reference line, maybe its kinked. I know it tight back there since I put in a "T" for something. Also I will mess with the BOV.

But for now my 91 is getting a clutch on sunday-monday. And I will be working on this car for a little bit. I really need my DD back and priorities are first. Life suxes soemtimes......GTG respond more later.

yep with a ceramic TOB

Yea the PP and fingers look fine. The disk though idk it looks ok. Anyways I'll risk it, I am picking my resurfaced FW tommorow and have to pick up a few other small things. Doing it the first time will sux but it doesn't look to bad. I picked up the DVD from shonut and watched it real quick. Shouldn't be too bad esp since I'm going to have a lift and a master mechanic help me if I need it. I need the practice. The 89 will need one soon I bet!

When you are ready to buy a laptop, I would definitely give a netbook a look. I hate large laptops now that I've been using an 8.9" Acer Aspire One since March. I bought it for tuning the car but I use it all the time. It was $300. My wife's EeePC was $170 from WOOT.com. It had Linux on it and a 4GB SSD, but I had a spare copy of XP and picked up a 32GB SSD card and she's been using it for school work.
