ok, I'm driving home from work in my 93 ATX. car has been running great. I realize I have no overdrive. when I put car in park, my idle is at 1800-2000 rpm's. check engine line came on. ran test this morning, got code 124 with car off, no codes running. still high idle. I did a quick check for any vacuum hoses that fell off, none observed. any ideas? new timing belt and crank sensor about 3 weeks ago.

Thats a throttle position sensor higher than expected fault. Try unhooking the battery for a few minutes and then restarting the car. If the code comes back it may be a bad sensor.

well the car is running great again. I pulled out the spring unit to see if C Clips broke which they were not (took about 5 minutes to pull out). I was just about a quart low on tranny fluid. I have to admit, I have not checked for a long time. fluid was not burnt up looking. I have no leaks either. added almost a quart and now tranny shifts fine, have OD again. as for the idle, my back to normal. I tapped the TPS with a screw driver, pulled out plug and pushed it back in. it works so I'm leaving it alone.
