i've been kicking around HIDs for a while, since car vs. deer battles are incredibly common around here. my thoughts are to seperate the stock housing, smooth out and polish the inside of the lens, flat black the surrounds and see what happens there...of course, i swear by properly aimed headlights.

well, as for fog lights, I've gotten a ticket in europe for using them when there was no fog out and a warning for using my rear fogs. NOn of them had hids in them. They are considered to be as blindful as high beams and hids.
But one time I almost drove of a cliff, because I had no fog lights and it was crazy foggy that night. Other times I drove with only fog lights on and they had yellow HIDs in them and could see everything on the highway in foggy condition.
MOdifying headlight housing in any way is the same as putting HID kit in it. I would compliment that anytime.
Oh, and by the way, if you're use eye lids, that deffinately won't blind anyone.

I have a friend that drives with some sort of dark glasses on at night, because he sees better with them on.
I can't ever wear even my prescription glasses, because every light, even street light , blinds me.

Good luck with this.

OP, if you're not going to take the time and retro fit projectors into stock housing, just buy some brand new headlights and put a good halogen bulb in it. Don't waste your time with HID's in a reflector housing, especially in old and yellowed lenses.

Here is why you want to retro fit:

My retro fitted lights in my 95. Car is roughly 100-125 feet from the building. Pics were taken with my phone, SLR shots to come soon!

Absolutely not. If that's your way of rationalizing them, then fine, but you're wrong. All you're doing is trading off who is blind.

You can't see --> you install blinding HIDs --> everyone else can't see

Sounds rather selfish to me.

I think that's accurate :swing:
