edien i can get the kits for you thats not a problem, they are a simple plug and play design.
Alright I'll make a note of that when I go to order them for my SHO, same time I'm ordering the new headlights, and my foglight HID's on my TL-S are plug&play as well, I think every HID kit is except for the projector type kits.

Over at the TL-S forum I am on and Maxima.org they dog Misterjung's kits, many people have returned his kits because after a few months his no name bulbs burnout or flicker on start-up/warm-up, only quality I see in his kits are the Hella ballast.

Gary is your kit anything like Misterjung kits?

Cause if the bulbs aren't Philips i'll have to pay out the *** like I did for my Tl-S HID's at $550 a kit plus spare bulbs I bought to use for my high beams later on evil_gri

At least over a year later, I have had no problems and I know I have the reliabilty of a 4yr warranty with these kits on my TL-S.

are they something similar to this?
Is it a "retro fit" as some of the members say?
Those on that auction look to be full projector housed HID's not HID bulbs retrofitted to fit the base of your headlight assembly, like this one from Misterjung's:

The above style kit, with pictures, is a "Plug and Play" AKA a HID Retrofit Kit.

Venom SHO s7 you order them based on your headlight assembly base fitting, and what color/Kelvin(K) you them in output wise, for example in my SHO I would order them for a 9007 base & 6000K color output, and I believe its 9004 for Gen I's but you'll have to double check that one, then the color output is up to you look at some of the pictures he has on the website to compare, also keep in mind just to confuse a little more in every headlight housing that is different in design the same 6000K color output will look very different because of its reflection and many other factors.

Gen 1's do use 9004, but for those who have questions, you can always find out here

Sean, this is great!

Also, I did not see the headlight pics either :(
What image are you referring to? Yahoo doesn't let you link pictures, thus why I haven't done so.
And yes, Bizzy, it was just to show how how the car looks now. It throws a pattern just like my Mom's Honda S2000. Basically, I cut out the reflector for the headlight, and mounted the HIDs to the surrounding surfaces. Now I just need some clear headlight covers to protect the glass lenses from dust and chipping.

That is exactly what the Misterjung kits look like.

It is a plug and play for the SHO, although i would probably do something to modify the SHO headlight housings as I DO NOT think that they would hold up to the HID's for long.

Bizzy, I'd love to see some "on-the-wall" beam shots of your new HID's. I have heard the gen 1 (or gen 2 for that matter) does not produce a nice beam pattern, and has a lot of glare when an HID bulb is put in. But I have never seen it on the wall so... shrug I guess I can't say anything until I see some proof :D

Chris, I didn't notice any glare or spreadout so to speak when driving home. Just seemed like normal headlights, nice and crisp and a heck of a lot whiter and brighter. I'll get some on the wall pics for you tonight so you can see how it looks from the driver's seat. wink

What do you mean by not holding up long? There isnt much heat output in HID's, after warm-up they only pull 35watts which is a lot less than most aftermarket ricer bulbs out there.

Only reason I know they'll hold up is because my cousin had them in his "ghetto" Sable for a few months until he crashed it, which of course the Sable uses the same plastic headlights as our SHO's.

I can't say either way guys because I don't know, but I don't think that'll be an issue. The HID bulbs are a bit smaller, and though they put out more light, they take less wattage. To me less wattage = less heat. shrug

I'll check to see if they feel warmer tonight also than what I remember the other bulbs I had in there did.

well as far as wattage goes they are only drawing about 35 watts. they do throw a little more heat than regular bulbs but there is not enough heat to damage any of the sho housings or lenses. i had them in my gen 2 for 2 years and never a problem at all. i sold kirk a set that he still has in his gen 3 for about 2 years now also and he has no heat problems so far. now beth has the only gen 1 that i know of and she has no prblems either, so you guys do the math.

Does the increased brightness make up for the lack of a high beam? I would get some if I knew losing high beams would be no big deal.

There are kits sold that have some sort of way of mimicking hi-beams, though they are not true high beams.

On my trip home I didn't even think twice about not having them and I went through fog and snow alike along the way, at times heavy on both.
