Just wanted to say hey and that i am a proud owner of a 96 SHO, its silver and in perfect shape other then running rough...It has a miss at idle and pops through the intake every now and then almost like its running lean...it you rev it a little it will smooth out but isnt able to drive due to lack or power...the engine has no noise so i hope the cams are still ok...I will be welding them as soon as i get it running smooth.....anyone have any ideas?..i looked into a few threads here and will check my plugs, coils, the TPS is new, and the fuel pressure....Thankyou for any help and i hope to have fun with this....Alsohas anyone near South Carolina got a 3.4 for sale?..i have a twin turbo twin cam SVO mustang and would like to do a 3.4 twin turbo in it as i have the 4cyl now....Thanks again..................Hal

Welcome. You are on the right track for pinpointing the miss. You may be better off welding and doing the testing of the coils while it is being welded as they will need to be removed anyway. A weld job would be top priority though. A miss is an inconenience, a failed cam is a major headache.

I am from SC in the Columbia area. I had a silver 96 and traded it in on a Cobra, but now I have a 99.Hmmm, I wonder if it is the same one. Glad you are here. I must have gotten lucky the other day cause I saw 3 other genIII SHO's in one day here in town!
Don't have a 3.4 for sale, just wanted to say hello though.
