Hey!
Man I haven't been on a SHO forum in a while. I know I've asked few of you for advice in the past on other boards! I lost my first 2 SHO's to rust and had to sell the last due to school-induced lack of storage. I don't currently have an SHO, but I'm looking at getting one soon for since it's my last year of school.

That brings me to my first question on this board! There's a S/C'ed gen1 SHO for sale with some hard to find bells and whistles like the quaife TBD. I've been out of the SHO world for a few years and haven't kept up with the progress of the forced induction 3.0. As far as I can tell, the job was well done (vortech s-trim s/c, wisco forged pistons, beefed up tranny rod shifter, suspension/brake upgrade, etc etc). I'm going to have tons of reading through the posts to do, but if I want to buy this car while it's still available, is there anything specific I need to inspect on a S/C'ed SHO?

Welcome aboard!!

In my opinion, look the car over very well without considering it has a supercharger. In other words, would it be a good buy without the SC on it. Look for rust rot. Make sure it is a straight car first. Look for signs that it has ever been wrecked. Look for signs of abuse and ask to see receipts of maintanence. If the car is a good solid buy without the SC then it being boosted is a plus! I'm not saying this car is like this, but you wouldnt believe how many people will sink big money into a car that isnt worth it.

If you happen to buy itmake sure you post pics. If you dont buy it let me know what color it is and where i can find it. haha!!

Thanks! Just wanted to make sure there was no specific part that's known to give out with the s/c setup. I've already got my list of normal 'SHOrtcomings' to checkout.
I'll get pics up as soon as possible. Hopefully it'll be mine by the end of the week. Otherwise, I'll let you know why it didn't pan out.

I'm in St-Hyacinthe, about one hour east of Montreal (and about 20 minutes away from Sanair). Working on my last year of veterinary medicine. I also drive up to my folks' place near Hawkesburry, the few times I get a weekend off from school. Never seen your SHO before though, where are you?

Woah awesome, that's like across the street, lol! How come I've never seen your car?! I guess I don't get out enough. Are you the type that might easily be lured over with promisses of beer and pizza in exchange for help working on cars?

Here are a few pics of the car I'm looking at. Irish, if you sneak out and buy it before i can, I'll find you and squirt water on your CPS, lol.

Nah sorry , My garage and tools are dedicated to my own cars. I got tired of working for others (for free or money) because if you dont do the job 100% right , well it comes back in my face.

If I do it on mine , well im the only one to blame and it doesnt costs anyone else's money to fix my errors.

We should meet someday.

Phoenix, I know what you mean. I'm up for a beer any time I'm not on call.

Ah, I was hoping someone would recognize the car. It is indeed from Florida, I think you're spot on, Sam. I remember learning, well after I bought it, that my first SHO had been involved in alot of petty drug deals, confiscated by the cops and resold a few times before it got to me. Not cool when people 'recognize your car' then.
If you know this car, is there anything you feel I should know about it?

It's FAST.

Chris (SuperchargedSHOguy) used to own it. PM him with your questions.

Very nice and reliable car. I sold it to Jessey 2 years ago. It looks like it remains the same, including the nitto drag radials.

Thanks for the input guys. Loads of help! This sounds like it's a fine car and well worth spending the weekend to go see.

I'll keep you posted.

Well, after a long roadtrip to see the car, it looks like I'm still a SHO-less member. :shappens:

The body is amazing shape (save for the tired paint on the roof), completely rust free but the car needed a lot more work then it sounded like over the phone.
