Just picked up a 97 with 112k miles.
The important stuff has been done already (cams welded, trans replaced 10k miles ago)
It appears to be all stock from what I can tell.
My only concern is the trans shifts very soft when driving it normally. Almost feeling like its slipping.
I looked at the fluid and it looked nice and red and didnt smell burnt.

I'm planning on installing an auxiliary trans cooler in the near future.

My question is that is there anything else I should look into in better detail?

Thanks in advance.

If you dont like the soft shifts talk to NESHO about a tuner. otherwise check out the V8 section and look for SHOZ123 (Paul Nimz) he can set you up with a good tune...

BTW Welcome

Soft mushy shifts are the norm unfortunately. You can change that with a tune. The trannys are sorta weak so keep an eye on shifts and gas mileage for noticeable changes for the worse. TCCs go on these too.
