Hesitation

Ok heres the deal. My car is a 92 with 214000, ill maintained car. I know that it isnt going to perform like a well mainained SHO but i still think i have a problem. When driving a long around 3000 rpm or so the car seems to to just lose power till around 5500. What do you think it could be. I have changed pluge,wires, valvecover gaskets ,plug well seals and iac trying to fix the problem. also i have ran codes and i get none.Has anyone else had this kind of problem ,or am i alone. Any help or suggestions are helpfull thanks all.

Could be the MAF. You can clean it by taking the sensor out of the MAF body and hosing it down with MAF cleaner. Not every place has it but i found it at my local Napa. Could also be a vacum/intake leak. The MAF cleaner is like $5 a can and you need a "Security Bit Torx 20" to get the sensor out.

I will try the maf cleaning today,seeing that its 40 something outside. a vacuum leak may take sometime but i will check.

A vacuum leak is pretty easy to find with a can of propane. Just open the nozzel on the can when the car is running, and move it around anywhere there are vacuum lines, and around the intake. The rpms will spike when you get near the leak (if you have one). I would definately clean the MAF out first. Did you try unplugging it yesterday on the way home at all?

Well with the problems i had with my lights i complety forgot mand i will today. igotta get that y pipe off today tooo

ok pulled the maf and wtf its a new car. im goin to pull one off ma parts car tomorrow. man its like nite and day. thanks guys.
