What ya think? It's actually sitting down a bit with the 400-500 lbs of mud under the truck, but you get the idea.
When I ask the ladies at work if they notice a change, they all say "did you get new tires?" Yeah... new tires, that's it! :bonk:

Looks alright for an Explorer, I guess ... :D

Just kiddin', M. Lookin' pretty good!

You do realize, though, that to complete the "look", you're gonna have to buy a bigger front bumper, a Warn winch and some bug ol' MT's, right? :)

he's already got the wheels and tires, but i think he lacks the testosterone for the bumper because he won't even get off his bum to replace a shock bolt. which is his excuse for not driving it all week. :)

Decent 4.0 V6 though.

Loads of torque for a V6 :****:

And the pushrod 4.0 is damn near bullet proof.

i used to own a 1994 Ranger XLT with the 4.0. loved that truck, but the thieves loved it more.

Thanks for the comments guys.

It's true it's not gonna be any good on the twisties, removed the rear sway bar, and haven't yet attached the front swaybar (yeah, a bit scary).

Tires are in the garage, just need to get em on, they look like this:

I've already installed lockers front and rear, came factory with skid plates (adding one for the front diff), but your right about the tube bumpers, winch and rock sliders (beefy nerf steps). Luckily all this stuff was fairly cheap, I've been patient and hunted for deals.

No 5.0, don't need no stinkin 5.0 :D
The ford 4.0 liter is indeed a VERY strong motor. 155hp and 225 ft. lbs. might not look too impressive, but even while pulling out a full size bronco, and a new chevy Z71 1500 I haven't had the need for more power. I've managed to suck water in the intake 2 or 3 times, pop the hood, pull the soaking wet filter out, and firing it right up, with no problem. Trashing the factory airbox took care of that problem, so we won't be having anymore of that.

After building up this truck, I kinda wish I had the opportunity to drive it in snow, but I'm thinking the front locker could make snow/ice very scary while trying to turn. Guess I'll never find out.

Thanks again guys, it was a LOT of work to complete the suspension lift, wouldn't wish it on anyone.

don't forget pulling that 50 or so foot long tree down the beach, digging into the sand the whole way. :) and all that was before the lift.

Everyone that tried moved it a couple feet, I moved it all the way across the beach. Plenty power :burn_out:

Not only does it look good, but I think it's neat how you were able to keep the same dirt on the sides!
