Here's an odd question...

Some time ago I noticed that my intake was missing the little "valve stem cap thingy" that screws on about 2/3 of the way over to the drivers side in the centre of the intake. Then I was told I really should find a cap for it. So the other day I was rummaging around a j/y for other stuff and grabbed one off of an 89. When I came home I went to screw it on the intake, and my stupid fumblefingers dropped it down in between the snakes. headbang I could see it and tried to get it using a pait of n/n pliers, but then they went down farther. headbang headbang

So Here's the question part: Now it is WAYYY down there where it can never be retrieved. Is it going to cause any problems down there?? With all the talk of engine fires lately, I am paranoid!!! frown

It's a Schrader valve. Just use a tire stem cap. I have a nice chrome metal cap on mine. The cap is used to prevent the entry of debris into the fuel pressure relief valve.

Thanks projectSHO89 and all who replied,
My main concern was that is was down where it wasn't supposed to be, right down in the centre of the engine where there would be a lot of heat! thumb

I've thought about picking up the motorcycle caps with the YAMAHA or tuning fork image on them, and using them on these lines just for looks.

In addition to keeping dirt off the rubber construction of the valves, they will hold pressure instead of letting the valves leak if you screw them on tight and they have the rubber insert.
