I just bought another SHO for $250! what a deal. Its in real good condition. Brand new tranny. Its a 92 and the guy said it had motor problems and he couldnt get it running. I got it home and started it right up. I put new plugs in and found a lot of oil in the spark plug holes. Its been sitting 4 awile. I checked the oil and its fine i let it run for 15 min and the oil light was flickering, where should i start?

First of all it needs the valve cover gaskets and plug well seals. If the idle was where it should be then it sounds like you need to change the rod bearings.

thats what i was wondering too. Is it worth it? Or should i attempt to drop a 3.2 in it? which would be easier and less money?

If it isn't knocking I would throw a set of RBs in it. Cheaper and easier then an engine swap. Should be around $60 for the bearings themselves and another couple bucks for the oil pan gasket. If you go the 3.2 route then I would recommend you replace the RBs before you drop in the motor.

From what I've heard the most difficult part is getting the oil pan back on without moving the gasket. Not really a hard job, just labor intensive. I am not sure about the coil pack, I've never had the two next to eath other to compare.

the only thing that is different its that theres a slit that the wire plugs into that is off to one side compared to in the middle on the auto.
