help with problem

I have started hearing some noise in my front driver side steering area when i turn left. When i am turning left to stop (parking lots mainly) i hear a pop from that area. Now my antilock light is coming on and when i am parking to the left my brakes grind and push back up.....
whats going wrong and what should be fixed.....one friend said something about the cv joint

CV joint is very possible. Less likely but still very possible is the strut rod receiver on the subframe. Less likely still (based on your description) is a ball joint or strut mount.
