I have finally crawled under to see how bad my rod bearings are. How do you get to the plug on the rear o2 sensor? They have been replaced once but I can not figure a way to get to the plug! I remember my mechanic cussing me for it but he has moved away. My hands are not THAT big, but I can't reach it.....

How does the oil level sender get removed from the pan? It spins in the nut. I can't find a connector on the wire. Do you just remove the nut and let it spin?

I am searching old threads too, and in a hurry....

Well, I spun the oil sensor out at the nut. The rear o2 sensor plug is unreachable to me. It is a 93 with the ATX. I am ready to take out the tranny dipstick tube for more room to get a hand in there. Will tranny fluid pour out or is it below this level?

I have wrenched on many things, but this car will test my ablity to remain calm and not take it to the crusher.........It is such a sweet garage kept car!

I have the Y pipe loose all but one bolt until I get this dang sensor out. I did have to grind the nuts off of the Y pipe to flex pipe joint to get it apart.

i just changed both of my 02's here about three weeks ago and it took me all of 5 minutes to do both! I just screwed them out of the y-pipe and then just unclipped the connection with one hand and wala!!!

Thanks, I will try again today. Danz13, that post is good, it did not come up in my search. I had tried from the top on the left side, but I did not want to stress the brake stuff too much. I will try right over the top now. I have it up on stands, so that will be extra fun.

The front took me like 3 minutes from underneath, the rear I found impossible to get at underneath and took it out from the top. It took about 45 minutes of wrestling with it. I dont even think my back one was plugged in good, I touched it and the old connector came out. I have an atx though and their is more room in the back of the engine.

Got to the plug from the top. Not bad once I removed the black plastic firewall cover thing. Did the sensor with a 7/8" crow's foot and universal joint.

the oil pan sensor is held into the nut w/ a jesus clip. youll see it after you wipe the dirt away

push in on clip, pull sensor out. if the sensor spins freely but doesnt pull out your doing it wrong.
