I just got off the phone wit the previous owner of my 95 mtx and heard the unfortunate news that the 60k was never done (i currently have 77k on her doh headbang )soooo...I was wondering if there was anyone on the east coast would be willing to help me do my 60k. Money is very tight and I could get the necessary parts from work. Being that the parts alone are probably going to break the bank, I dont see much choice. Also, I'd much rather drive a few hours and use $30 on gas then pay a shop who knows how much and not even know its done correctly. I could pay the person who helps me something, but like I said, i couldnt afford much.

I would love to help, but I am a little further than you want to drive... but if you have any questions, make sure you ask them here.

oh and i just pulled the front three plug wires. the ones on the side had a very small amount of oil on them. The center plug(#5) was absolutely COVERED in oil. I need to do something soon so that I dont find any more major problems.

If money is tight, you should be able to temporarily fix the leaking plug well seals with some RTV. Just be sure to get all the old oil/junk out of the wells before removing the spark plugs. If it's any help on not rushing in to the 60k service, after 13 years and 88k miles on my 89, my valve shims were still good and the tolerances were within the specs. Just on the high side.

Best advice, start putting funds aside for all the 60k work. Use the forum and I'm sure you'll find someone to help and plenty of good advice.

The parts for a whole 60k will be a bit of money. You could always do it in 2 stages. The front end in one stage and the top in the other. If you have to go it alone, get the video from Sho Nut Performance. Worth every penny.
