Read codes KOEO/KOER, have symptons, searched & need help
Ok,
Once in a while my car will hesitate or "buck" slightly while driving. It also tends to do this more frequently when I am really full or really low on gas. But not always.
It also seems to take longer than normal to start by one to two cranks. Sometimes it wont start until 10 cranks or so. Generally if it doesnt start in 4-5 cranks I stop and retry and it will then start after a few cranks.
Before jumping the gun I wanted to get the codes for everyone. I had recorded the codes on my digi camera and just got through them and here they are.
My car currently has ~70k on it. Its a 93 with an auto. The 60k was done, the O2 sensors were changed last year (one was a bosch one was a a standard as 2 bosches werent available) along with new plugs this May. It is strictly mantianed. All fluids, filters (I was told fuel replaced before I bought it I will replace that tonight) I used new gaskets up top when I did the 60k.
Until lunch I have only the KOEO codes. They are as follows:
111
172-HEGO sensor indicates system lean (RH).
173-HEGO sensor indicates system rich (RH).
181-Adaptive fuel rich limit is reached (RH).
189-Adaptive fuel rich limit is reached (LH).
212-IDM circuit failure / SPOUT circuit grounded.
According to the shotimes faq it seems that all of these are stored..and the engine passed te eimediate KOEO test by flashing 111 twice.
Any ideas or should I reset them and pull them again in a few days?
*****Also if I reset the codes by pulling the jumper do I need to reset the idle? Or is that only if I use the battery drain test?*****
After Lunch I have these codes now with KOER test:
129-Insufficient mass air flow (MAF) change during dynamic response test.
167-Insufficient throttle position change during dynamic response test.
225-Knock sensor (KS) not sensed during dynamic response test.
632-???
Did I do this test wrong? There does seem to be conflicting info on how exactly to perform the test. Shotimes says to wait until the single CEL light to flash after the engine ID to turn the wheel, hit brake, turn on/off O/D, and to goose it.
Midwest says to turn wheel, tap brake, and turn on/off O/D after the ID but before the single CEL flash. Then after the singel cell flash to goose it....
It appears the exact order is not really there but I think it goes like this
**
3 flashes for engine ID
Steering 1/2 turn each direction
tap brakes (full depress or tap?
switch O/D off and back on
Single seperator flash
Then quickly goose the throttle to WOT
**
So it looks as though the KOER codes are incorrect due to me doing the test wrong. I will get those codes posted...
On the above codes though any ideas?
