So, I’ve had a bunch of issues all seemingly popping up at once. One week my 1995 A/T was running fine (but stalling until it warmed up-IAC valve on the way also) then the next it would crank and not turn over, was getting some smoke from the ignition coil. Blew out the starter trying to crank it (stupid move i know). So now I’ve got a starter and the valve coming this weekend, and i picked up an obd1 eec scanner today and some codes popped up.
124 C- throttle position sensor voltage above normal
211 C- profile ignition pickup (pip) circuit fault
556 C- Fuel pump relay primary circuit fault

So now I’ve got some answers and also some questions.
For the 124, should a new throttle position sensor cure this? Or am i possibly looking at some wiring issue along the way? Anyone had this issue before (or any of these others?)
For the 211, the pip, is that the ignition coil? Should a new one do the trick possibly?
For the 556, does this mean just the relay is bad? Or am i possibly again looking at a wiring issue buried somewhere?

i know it’s a lot to unpack but I’ve found myself laid off with time (and a little money) on my hands to finally get this sorted out and running so any guidance would be much appreciated, thanks in advance all!

The PIP is the crank sensor.

It is no fun to diagnose or change, which is difficult as there are no new ones being sold yet (but maybe soon).

Clear your codes and see which ones reappear.

This.
After you install the other stuff.

...That looks like too many electronic codes to me. Smoke from the ignition coil? The DIS module on the intake or the coil pack where the spark plug wires attach? Smoke from electronics is no bueno unless that smoke came from the starter you fried.

Would any of those besides the fuel pump relay cause the car to crank but not turn over? Crank sensor or cam sensor?

I think you may have a bad crank position sensor. One way to check if the cam sensor is bad (but you have no codes), is to unplug it and try starting the car. It could take up to three or more tries as the engine is guessing.

How long ago was the front 60K done or was it ever done. How many miles are on the car?

Does the water pump look original (oxidized) or newer

Begin with a new starter and throttle position sensor. You will need to disconnect the battery to do that, which will reset the codes.

Then, see if it starts or not. If not, run the codes again and let us know what they are. If it does start, drive it for half an hour continuously, and then pull the codes again and let us know what they are.

btw, the obd1 code readers are notoriously bad at pulling the codes properly, so I suggest you confirm the codes you get from the reader by jumpering the connector and counting the flashes on the check engine light. There is a good thread on the forum with diagrams, etc. on exactly how to do that.

Update: new starter went in and started right up but had to float the pedal till it warmed up to idle on its own (iac valve not here yet). Changed throttle sensor after a few hours later, started right up again. Ran codes again, got an all clear with engine off (still have to drive around a bit) and no important codes while running, so hopefully slightly out of the woods for now

So i got the new iac valve in, new throttle position sensor, starter. Right after i put the iac valve in it started right up and idled fine then stalled, now doing the same thing again. Getting a code for engine temp lower/higher than normal. My mechanic thinks it might be the temp sensor on the engine block so i ordered one and that goes in this weekend, i think we’ve narrowed it down to that and why it won’t idle on its own until warmed up

I have never seen that code cause the engine not to run right when cold, but hopefully that fixes it.

what is the code exactly?
