Looking for someone with autobody experience....

I have a good sized hole developing in my passenger rear quarter, and I would love to replace it with a patch panel from a donor car. I can get the donor panel but I have no clue where to start to mend them together.
I have grinders, 110 welder, and $$ for supplies. I just dont know the first thing about making a quality permanent repair.

Anyone have input or even time to help me stop this cancer from getting terminal?

I wish I were closer to you I could lend a bondo hand, I haven't done to many patch panels before. I suck at welding, but you want to leave about a half an inch of over lap, to butt the panels togther to make contact with the welds.

Cutting the panel with bondo is going to be the hard part. I wish you luck, I might have to come up and make a weekend out of it? Need to ask the ol' ball and chain(easier said that done)

little piece? Ick id hate to see what a big hole is to you. :) that's a decent size hole IMO.

just make sure you do it right ,and cut a bit further then you think the rust is. Get behind it and try to get a good idea of where it stops, and cut further then that. We call it cancer in collision. Just like cancer if don't remove all of it, its going to come back, and put to waste all of your hard work. Take your time, body work Is patience.

Ever see a floorboard? I seen the road going down the road, that's big to me.

I would sand it first to see how far the rust goes up! Just to get the idea of where to start, use alittle bit of Fiberglass filler to over the welds and then bondo
