Hi , My name is Dennis poliseno . I'm from Valparaiso In . I need some help I put Tokico Struts , Intrax Springs & 24mm & 26mm swaybars on my 93 SHO MTX it has 16 " wheels now i'm puting 17" 235-45-17 as soon as they get here I have a couple problems now with the 16' wheels . should i wait untill the 17' are on first ? the problem now is 1. the wheel alignment in front is 3 deg. - caster . are there kits to get this to 1deg - . 2. the endlinks in the rear for the swaybar are way to long because the car is lowered . are shorter endlinks ? or should i cut these to fit . ( 3. when the car is on the lift the rear springs are loose in the struts , when the car is on the ground they're fine ( tight in the seats ) is any thing wrong with this ? thankyou Dennis

1. I think you mean camber the angle of the tires vertically when the wheels are straight. You have to remove the spot welds on the plates on the strut tower and then move them toward the fenders. Any alignment shop should be able to do this for you.
2. The length of the end link will not need to be changed because the different spring hight will not affect the mounting position of the links. Just think about where they are mounted at. The stock length are fine.
3. The springs are now shorter. This is common with lowering springs.

Even if it +3 caster, that's not a bad value for handling. There shouldn't be much downside to keeping the caster at that value.

I agree with Ishodu. I have been reading alot in the forum about lowering the SHO and doing swaybar swapt(I cant afford it). Everything he says is true. I have also heard that -1.25 degrees camber is a good number for handling, but not for tire wear. Can anyone confirm this?

Hi Ishodu , the mounting btacket on the strut is not as the bottom like stock it's about 2 -21\2 in. maybe a little higher so the strut sits alot lower in the lower socket .this makes the the end link mount that much lower i went to the shop today and looked at it my self . the endlink mount on the strut wiil not fit thanks Dennis

I to have Tokico struts in my car along with lowering springs. The mounting point on the Tokico is the exact same as the mounting point on the OEM struts.

I (and many others) have the same strut/spring combo you have. If anything, the rear endlinks need to be longer than stock, not shorter. The shorter springs mean the mounting point (on the strut) for the swaybar endlink is higher relative to the mounting point of the sway bar to the body. Having said that, the stock length endlinks should work fine, although they are kind of a PITA to install. It's easiest to do if the suspension is compressed. This gives you the most room for the links.

I think it depends on the tires and/or rims. FWIW, I have, and a number of people have, been running negative camber of 2 degrees or more for track use, front and rear. I've been through a couple of tire sets this way with no abnormal or uneven wear. Others have claimed uneven wear with less camber, so YMMV.

Ishodu you replied ( The mounting point on the Tokico is the exact same as the mounting point on the OEM struts. ) I bought my struts on ebay the front ones are good the back are junk . the mounting point is 21\2 to 3 higher . i'm going to put koni adj. on the rear and leave the tokico's on the front will that be OK . i bought a camber kit on ebay for front & rear too .
