Ok, i'm removing my tranny today. I have an AutoLift, airtools, etc. I've removed trannys on Mustangs and Camaros, but this is my first time in a front wheels drive. I don't know how complicated it is, or where to start! Someone give me a hand please.

on the Taurus sho, base, etc. and alot of front wheel drive cars there are some things you must know before doing this... you will need to get a cradle (spelling ?) that goes over the top of the engine.. you hook it to the stock towers and what not then it hooks to the engine.. the reason for this is that you have to drop the sub frame when removing the tranny... if you do not do this then you will be replacing alot more then your car is really worth... you can kinda make a home made setup with very strong wood but would recommend using the cradle... that is the most important part of doing the tranny.. once that is in and you undo the tranny mounts and motor mounts you will pull the 4 bolts (if i remember right there is only 4) that hold the subframe on the car... just put it off to the side.. also i would recommend before you undo the mounts and what not that you remove your axles... once this is all done its just a matter of disconnecting linkage, sensors, etc.. and unbolting it... hope this helps...

When I talked to the tranny shop who pulled mine they said if you can work on your camaro & swap clutches & what not on that then you'll AOK to drop the tranny in the SHO. I was going to tell you about the engine thing but didn't know how to explain it. I seen a homade job a couple days ago so good luck on it! Did you find your service manual or no??? Anyways best of luck & check this out :D 1016386940259 TRANNY BORLA 1016386941140 STRUTS CLUTCH thumbs_u
