ok i have a friend with a 93 atx and they were driving then they stoped at a stop light, they tried going but the front brakes locked up on them. they got the car off the road and i got the brakes to release but the transmission is not acting right, it is smoking and very high reeving before it shifts. if there is a god some one give me some good news.

The good news is that it can be re-built. :laugh_ti: Sorry. Couldn't resist. One thing you can try is a bottle of Trans-X. My 94 ATX was shifting so hard it felt like I got rear ended every time it shifted gears. 54,000 miles later it's still working. Sounds like your problem might be different than mine, but now you can get an ATX tranny from Doug at FPS.

Best of luck.

Are you sure that the brakes are what locked up? Sounds like something took a doo-doo on you either internally in the trans or the torque converter. It's a 93, so a problem with the trans wouldn't surprise me in the least, especially if the car has been abused at all.

thanks guys it was the brakes that locked up but that was easly solved by taking some brake fluid out of the master cylinder and the car is up and running all i did was disconect the battery over night and i started it up the next morning and it was good, thank god
