Hello. I am in need of help. I am not mechanical, at all so excuse the ignorance.

I have the lms corsa cat back exhaust with thunderstorm dp and high flow cats. I moved back to NYS and need to out the oem cats back on to pass inspection. Can only get 2 monitors not ready so it won't pass. Evap monitor won't come on and cat monitor throws the code of course.

My question is I took it to a chain muffler shop and they said I can't put the stock oem back on because there's no ******. I am not mechanical but I've been told numerous times this should be able to be done and they can't weld because the exhaust is stainless.

Any guidance or walk through or guidance that I could show a mechanic would be appreciated.

Thank you

it is possible to weld stainless to carbon steel, so you need to find a different muffler shop.

however, it sounds like you have a tune - that will most likely need to be returned to stock in order to pass the readiness test.

It sounds like the chain might be a bit unfamiliar with turbo cars, or confused by the EcoBoost. There is a ****** present. A ****** has to be present in order for the downpipes to meet the turbos and/or the catback. There is no reason to weld anything. You simply unbolt the dp's from the turbos, disconnect the dp's from the exhaust and then replace it with the stock unit. We make sure that we do not delete any factory designed fasteners when creating our replacement/aftermarket parts.

This is comical... I do not have the original OEM DP's. I called my ford dealer and he couldn't locate a part. Does anyone happen to have a part number for the OEM DP's?

Thank you.

Here is the exploded view of your exhaust system:

I would print this out and sit down with your parts guy. This way there is no confusion or misinformation when you ask for parts. He can use the engineering numbers from the image to get the actual part numbers.
