ok here it is.. i have a 1991 sho.. i had a prob with the front end shaking under braking and fast driving (50+)
under braking the front end knocks and the whole front of the car shifts from left to right with the knocking sound.
i replaced the rotrs and brakes and it didnt help. if it makes a difference my antilock light is on. also today i switched my wheels
from the stock basket wheels to a chromed set of slicers. when i got back in the car after the swap my brake pedal went tot he floor.
and i haveto pump it twice to get a pedal now while driving even tho i didnt touch the brakes today
i mvery very stumped please help and im sorry for the lengthy letter

When you swapped the wheels did you check to make sure the calipers were secure, and the spindles weren't 'loose'?

It could be a number of things -- ball joint(s), bearing(s), caliper(s) loose/siezed, bad sway bar end link(s), bad CV joint(s)/half-shaft(s), bad strut mount(s), possibly even the ABS system acting up.

When you did the brakes, did you just replace the pads, or the calipers too? If you changed the calipers and didn't bleed the system in the proper order that could be causing the low pedal. You could also have a leak.

Pull the wheels off one at a time and see what if anything you can get to move. You shouldn't get any play in the spindle or strut. Make sure the endlinks (the things that attach the swaybar to the strut) are connected and intact. Inspect the boots on the CV joints to make sure they're intact and not leaking, also look for any obvious distortion, wear, etc. on the half-shafts. You should probably check for brake fluid leaks while you're down there, and consider bleeding the system again (RR, LF, LR, RF).

Get a 30 mm deep well socket and make sure the front hub nuts are tight. My friends 93 had about the same problems, clunking and shaking in front end, bad brakes, etc. and it turned out the left front hubnut was a little loose. All problems were solved by tightening it, hope your fix is that simple as well.
