I could really use some opinions... I'm undecided between Red and Blue paint for calipers. I'm about to embark on my first brake job (woot!) and will be painting the calipers while I'm there. I did some mockups, so tell me what you think.

RED Calipers

BLUE Calipers

Thanks everyone!

Normally I would say red however if you want to be a little different, I would go Blue. Either options would look great in my opinion. If you have any other mods that affect your color scheme, now is the time to consider them in your overall color scheme.

I like the Red ones. I have considered painting mine, but have only done some research on what paint is best. Check out Eastwood Company, http://search.eastwood.com/search?w=brake caliper paint kit . They have a ceramic paint kit, but I believe you need to buy a paint hardener to mix with it. Preparation is crucial as a first step and it looks like you need to apply numerous coats to avoid runs. They have some reviews to read. Let us know what you end up doing and some pix.

just my 2 cents, if you had red in your scheme anywhere else would do red, but with a silver car i personally would go blue, not quite as glizzy more elegant. i personally have red in my scheme under the hood on my white sho so did red mgps.

I voted blue. It is clean, understated, and not stock. When I built up my Prelude, Blue was the accent color, so I did blue calipers. Here are a crappy pics showing it.

I'm digging blue...might go with blue accents on mine in the future too. Red is everywhere, and we have colors blue could look good on and be different.

Of the two colors I would choose red, not a huge fan of the blue option. With no other accents on your car blue looks out of place. Red doesn't necessarily compliment any other accents, but it's standard and is more red on the car in the tail lights.

I currently have my brakes at a buddies and he's powder coating them black. I took off the calipers and brackets and they are both being powder coated. I have also painted the fender emblem (chrome is now black and what was black is now silver), the silver around the running lights was painted black, chrome on grill painted black, chrome on the back is also painted black, and I have black rocker stripes. So black calipers matches the silver/black combo that I have. Even with just silver I think black calipers would look good. Only "problem" is it's not a flashy or showy color like red/blue.

Minor detail, the rear calipers are much smaller than what you have shown.

Bro, it's a mockup hahaha. I think I just filled in the caliper and the surrounding bracket. Pfft lol.

It's funny... seems to be a majority for blue here... but where I work, the response was overwhelmingly for red. Weird.

Do I spy EBC Ultimax rotors and Red Stuff? Looks like you're gonna have to upgrade to the Yellow stuff to go with that black ;)

And what's up with the suspension? (Looks brand new!)

Well, in spite of blue outvoting red 2x, someone pointed out there's more red accents than blue and that swayed me. If I don't wind up liking it, I'll just change them to black. For now, I have two cans of red and my new brake kit too.

Red calipers will definitely look cool. Post some pictures once you're done painting them.
