Okay, so,

HOW DO I CLEAR MY COMPUTERS (eec-iv) MEMORY, SO THAT IT WILL LEARN THE NEW FUEL CURVES ETC... FOR MY MODS ETC... ?

DO I JUST UNPLUG THE BATTERY WIRE, THEN PLUG IT BACK IN ? OR IS THERE A RESET BUTTON?

Just unplug both cables and the memory wire to the pcm (there is a connector in the middle of the wire.). Let everything drain reconnect and do the relearn procedure with progressive loads.

But I am new?

I don't know the relearn procedure with the progressive loads?

Can you elaborate?

Is the relearn procedure just driving around town? or is there a specific strategy to it?

Reset the idle programming per the following.

1) Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
1a) Optionally, disconnect the keep alive memory connector in the small wire also landed to the negative battery terminal. You can then wait the 15 minutes, reconnect the plug, and go to step 6).
2) Turn on the headlight switch.
3) Wait at least 10 minutes.
4) Turn off headlight switch.
5) Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
6) Start engine normally (never press on the gas pedal).
7) Allow idle speed to settle for about 30 seconds.
8) Within 70 seconds of starting the engine, apply all accessory loads the engine will see at idle. Do these concurrently.
8a) Climate control to MAX A/C.
8b) Headlight switch ON.
8c) Turn steering wheel 1/2 turn side to side.
8d) Press brake pedal.
8e) ATX SHOs only: shifter to DRIVE.
9) Do not turn off engine for at least 5 minutes.
10) It is preferable that the car be driven immediately after setting the idle programming.
11) While driving, allow the coolant temperature to rise to the normal range.
12) Run the car through its entire performance range.

OKAY, sorry I am such an idiot;

but...

1.) I don't know where the disconnect line is on the computer. I originally thought the computer was up near my radiator, but that turned out to be my ANTI-LOCK BRAKE CONTROL.

WHERE IS THE COMPUTER AND ITS KEEP ALIVE MEMORY WIRE?

2.) Instead of the neg. cable, can I disconnect the positive (the reason is that the neg, is stripped to shreds, and I won't be able to put it back on if I take it off)

The computer is mounted IN the firewall above the glovebox.

If you flip the glovebox door down and peer up in there, you will see the back of its case. The wire harness connector is on the engine side of the firewall.

There is no reset button for the computer. Remove the negative cable from the battery and let the car sit for a couple minutes with a load switched on. This will definately drain the power for the KAM.

Reconnect the battery cable and follow the instructions for relearning idle strategy. Then go for a ride so the computer will start the process of learning driving characteristics. It will take a few drive cyles for this to be optimized.

Yes, you could remove the positive connector. Safety recommends that the negative cable always be removed first to prevent arc welding your tools to the frame in the event your wrench or pliers makes contact with ground while working on the terminal. These arcs can cause serious burns and can cause sparks that can cause eye injury.

The procedural method of clearing the codes is to install the jumper in the EEC TEST plug, turn the ignition key to ON, let the codes start to flash on the CHECK ENGINE light, then pull the jumper. At least with this method, you don't have to reset all of your radio stations.

I thought the aim was to reset the idle program? Either way, all the info. should be contained in these last few responses.
