help my sunroof doesn't work

I got the car with a broken piston ring but, i can fix that. the only problem i have is the sun roof. can anyone help me?

P.S. it's an '89 model. and pretty freakin fun!

check fuses first, then you may have to replace the motor...it is common for the window motors, particularily the rears, to get rusted and seize up, im not sure if thats the case for the moonroof motor though. pop out the map lights gently and undo the 2 screws and then gently slide the roof console unit off, and see if you can see anything from there.

you may have a problem with the relay .... (been there)

what is it doing? or is it doing nothing at all?

Mine was the switch. There is a plastic rocker on the switch which is the part that you actually push is a crappy design all it took to get mine working again was replacing that plastic part. But be carefull when you take the cover off the roof, the tiny plastic things that hold the clips on break really easy. Good luck
