We are getting ready to start the tranny replacement project and a couple of crucial questions came to mind. This job is being done in a residential gargage and the car will be on jack stands.

1. Where do you attach the tranny jack (best balance point)?

2. How many inches of jack travel needed? In other words, how many inches do you need to lower the tranny to allow enough clearance to remove it? (It appears that the maximum vertical travel for my jack is 15-16 inches.)

Thanks

Devin

I wasn't aware that you could remove it from the bottom, though I have been wrong before!

IIRC it will come out the bottom just like a MTX. Get the car up as high as you can. If you need to use block with the jack that will be better than not having enough room in there.
