Help car left me stranded

My car just up and quite on me with no CEL or warning. It has been running fine. All the maintance has been done and is up to date so I really dont know what the problem is. Today, I noticed it was a little hard to start but once it started it ran fine. What i mean as hard to start is that it usually fires right up. Today it seemed like it was missing the push it needed to fire up I stoped at the store on the way home from work and that was it for the car starting again. It has a new battery and will not start with a hot shot. I have no codes!. Battery has plenty juce.

Does anyone know what the problem may be. Thanks!

Are you getting any dash lights or any power anywhere else, or is it completely dead? Can you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the key to "on" before trying to start it?

Yes I am getting dash lights and I can hear the fuel pump when I turn the key. No start, just a loud clicking when I turn the key.

A loud clicking noise is likely to be the starter.

If you're lucky, it might be a cable, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

If it is the starter, you can sometimes avoid a tow by giving the starter a few whacks. If you are lucky there is a dead spot and you jar things just enough to get beyond it. Of course, the idea in case you luck out is to drive to a place where you can check for shorts and also can put in a starter.

so the engine does not rotate when you try to start? if so that is the starter. it needs to be replaced. that does not explain why the car would quit on you though...sad question to ask, but is there oil in it?

Sorry if I confused the matter, but the car did not quite running while running. It just refused to run again after I turned it off. I belive its my starter now. Off to the shop again for the shop hog.
