Guys,

I don't get this cycling switch seal. I have the Visteon switch and the Visteon accumulator/drier. One would think they should fit together well but I don't like what I'm seeing. I don't want leaks... especially in a no-brainer place like this.

Take a look at the pics and tell me what you think.

First: All the diagrams I can find show the o-ring going on the schrader valve first and then the switch screws on. When I do that, the o-ring just gets squished out of its groove. Besides, the bottom of this switch is not flat and not conducive to a seal. Note the two ramps on the leading edge. The little o-ring in there is one I just dropped in. It's actually a bit too small. It seems to be about he only feasible way for me to seal this switch on the schrader valve.

Below you see the schrader valve on the accumulator. The o-ring you see is one I put on (neither switch nor accumulator came with one) for illustration. I can screw on the switch like this but I don't get the impression there's much of a seal taking place on the o-ring. Like I said, if I put a larger o-ring down on that bottle ledge you see below the threads, it only squishes out when I screw down the switch far enough to open the valve.

As you can see here, the switch bottoms out on that flat ledge below the threads.

Are these two parts even compatible?? Am I just missing the obvious? This was the last part of the job I expected to give me grief. Can anyone help me out here? Where does the o-ring go for a reliable seal?
