Greetings peeps. Signal-11 here. New SHO owner and so far I am in love with the car. Really hope they keep producing them! I'm based in the Indianapolis market and I am always looking for others to talk shop with and help me improve my knowledge of cars.

So, sup yalls? :)

Unless your SHO is brand new or a couple of years old (2017+), I would highly recommend changing all the fluids. That would include the engine oil, the coolant, power transfer unit fluid, rear diff fluid, and I would start cycling trans fluid. Wait what? I just bought this car.... HA! Yep those pesky more maintenance costs already hitting you in the pocket. In post three of this thread I talk about PTU fluid change, RDU fluid change, and trans fluid cycling. What, how, why, and what I personally use and suggest follows down below.

Thanks for sharing that link! So funny thing that you bring this up. They oil had been changed by the dealership before I took ownership and I had the coolant and transmission fluids drained and refilled. I was going to have the rear diff done but the garage said it wasn't needed yet. I didn't know about the power transfer unit. I will have them look into it and get that done as well.

I'm at just shy of 60k on the odom and I'm having my shop catch up on any/all maintenance since I need this baby to last several years.

Depends. Personally ask Ford, however I would ask a transmisson shop because they will probably do it cheaper.

Thanks for the tip! Ive learned that my local ford dealer is, well, lets just say they live on another planet when it comes to pricing.

Ill check with the local garage i use and see if its something they can do, otherwise plan B is transmission shop!

Welcome!
Do you have any major plans for the sho?

At this point, other than minor cosmetic things, no. I need the car to survive for me for the next five years ha!! I wouldnt mind a minor tune to hopefully improve performance/MPG but i dont know enough about the car yet to know what to do.

New rims might be in order as they have some curb rash on them.

Lol! I'm kinda in the same boat, i bought mine 2 years ago at the end of the month. I'll include some pics so you can see what i've done cosmetically. Very slowly starting to mod, as I want to keep mine for a while.

Nice. New window tint is def in order. The previous owner did such a crap job. My concern is the rear defroster since its the worst. Im afraid it will stop working. :(

So side bar. Got a quote from my normal shop. 380$ to do ptu and rdu drain/pump and fill. Doesnt sound TOO horrible.

I would do it if I didn't have a PP Sho. I was lucky the RDU, when I transmission was replaced I had them drain both the RDU and PTU and refill with Redline Lightweight ShockProof fluid. However, prior to that, I did my PTU myself. My write up about it is post 5 in the link. Pretty sure you read that though.
