Heat/AC Vents not opening up

while removing the EEC for diagnosis of some other issues i'm having something happened and now the vents will not blow. The heat or Air just comes out of the Defrost it is still the appropriate temperature though. With the Hood open i can hear a slight hiss sound

What could i have hit to cause this problem?

Any hints on finding this leak?

I THINK that it's coming from the black metal rod where it goes back into the firewall but i'm not certain if that is it it's really hard to tell

there was a little black vacuum line that runs parallel with the firewall that i had unplugged. which apparently is tied into the AC system.

atleast that problem is solved
