Can anyone describe how to remove the passenger dash vent without destroying it or messing up the surrounding dash?

I was working on something and managed to put an elbow in that vent about a month ago. I found some salvage cars with a good vent to swap in there. Not really willing to pull the entire dash just for this.

I would guess you are talking about the far right vent closest to the passenger door? Take a thin flat head screwdriver, then carefully get it between the bottom housing of the vent and the dash.

Gently bring the handle downward which will slowly inch the bottom of the vent forward. Repeat this all along the bottom until you can grab it with a small pair of pliers. Gently pull it out with a pair of pliers and you will have the vent out in one piece.

It's actually easier than the other three vents in my opinion. I wish they would all just pull out like that.

This works for the 92 to 95. Your signature says 97 so if it is for that than I cannot help you there and the post was in the wrong year section.
