I’m looking for new color changing headlamp bulbs for car shows and meets and was wondering how we can tell on our cars if they are halogen or HID? Also temping about sending out my DRL to get customized for the rgb use

Everywhere I’m looking the wattage is to high from the hid to use the ledThere are now LED products that replace the stock HID product. Plug n play, mostly. And work well, per those who have tested them recently.
But in the electrical system there is a module for the hid to command the voltage not just the ballast it a module going to the BCMI'm guessing you replace the HID bulbs AND ballasts with the LED bulbs. The Ballasts are what raises the voltage. With them removed, you should have a 12 volt signal to the LED bulbs
